Andrew Boyer - A Test

So, it would stand to reason that if you were doing a test to see if you could get to the top of the world’s greatest search engine, you could orchestrate a post that would get you close.

There are some pretty standard rules about stuff like this, and if you don’t want to read about any of these rules, just go visit andyboyer.com and stop now.

But if you are curious about whether search engine optimation techniques work, go to said search engine and type in "Andrew Boyer" or “Andy Boyer”. According to commonly believed methods, I need to fill in another 300 to 400 words here to make this work. How should I begin?

UPDATE:  Andy Boyer as a search term used to find a bunch of people that were not me.  But, since starting this little experiment, I’ve jumped to #1, #2, and #3.  Not bad, eh?

UPDATE: May 25, 2007 - Well, my WordPress post where this started is now scoring #1, which would be great - except I moved my current thoughts to www.andyboyer.com, so I'm actually stealing my own visitors.   You have to be a little into technology marketing to really appreciate the humor.  I consistently write a blog, but my little test where I tried to manipulate the system 6 months ago was too successful and is whooping my new blog's butt.  So, I've deleted this from my original wordpress blog and moved it here.  I'm curious what the results will be.

UPDATE: March 30, 2008 - Now while the name of this blog certainly seems to score well, the name Andrew Boyer seems to do quite poorly.  This could be quite a concern, given that it's my legal name.  So, how is the best way to get Andrew Boyer a little more exposure?  Hence, some edits to the page.

Andrew Boyer is living in Seattle, where he graduated from the University of Washington MBA Program. He did his undergrad at the University of Arizona in Tucson and then worked for the Quad City River Bandits.

Boyer spent almost six years at RealNetworks, home of real.com, where he worked on the RealPlayer marketing team.

Boyer has a sister, Liz Boyer, who in 2007 finsihed her PhD program at the University of North Texas, and for reasons he cannot explain, finished that North Texas degree in Davis, CA. They both grew up in New Orleans. Liz Boyer married Rich Kline in 2000.

Now, that was a pretty boring post, but we’ll see if it served its purpose. By the way, Boyer is available as a marketing consultant specializing on start-ups and maximizing online avenues.
